Determination of kinematic measures in multi-degree of freedom systems
To determine the motion of a system with the rigid body approximation, it's possible to use a measuring system consisting of six accelerometers or six lasers.
The system in the picture shows a measuring system with six reflection lasers designed to determine the kinematic behavior of a rotating machine. Lasers point to six rigid targets fixed to the machine.
By means of a transformation matrix, the six signals are transformed in the displacements and rotations of the body. By these measures its possible to determine important dynamic values useful to analyze, verify and optimize the system.
