Mechanical vibrations and dynamics
Attenuation of "rattle" in the gears
The rattle is a phenomenon of that occurs between the teeth in a gear under certain load conditions. It is often the cause of unwanted vibration and noise.
Eidos Engineering, thanks to his knowledge and tools, is able to address and solve very complex problems such as the rattle.
On the machine under test, vibrations were measured at different points and at different engine speeds through the use of accelerometers.
Using a simplified scheme of the transmission, an analytical model with 4 degrees of freedom has been achieved.
This model has allowed to simulate the correct behavior of the system.
Level of vibration at different engine speeds before and after the intervention of Eidos Engineering.
