Chatter in the tool machines

The chatter in tool machines is a phenomenon of instability due to several factors including the dynamic characteristics of the machine and the cutting forces. The chatter is characterized by self-generating vibrations capable of causing problems of bad surface finish and even tool breakage.
To reduce chatter without changing the mechanical structure of the machine is necessary to increase the overall damping of the structure. To do this we chose to apply a mass damper, with visco-elastic materials, entirely developed by Eidos Engineering.
